Description of Work:

When Will You Hear Us brings up the reasons and background stories as to why such a huge portion of the U.S isn't voting. Their stories go unheard, unnoticed, and often purposely ignored by those on top. You start to notice a common pattern and attitude toward minorities who want to vote. Once you pay close attention, you begin to realize that the question isn't why aren't they voting, it's why can't they vote?

Artist’s Bio:

Mell Sanroman is an aspiring illustrator and a painter that aspires to motivate, educate and inspire others with her work. Since graduating with the class of 2020, she follows a path that encourages her to paint as much as possible and constantly create for the reasons listed above. During this time, Mell has created several art commissions, developed an art portfolio, and most excited of them all, became an entrepreneur with the creation of her art shop. She hopes that on her journey she will not only establish herself as a successful artist but will continue to find inspiring organizations such as Creative Reaction Lab and work with talented creators to use art in a beneficial and fulfilling way.
