Description of Work:

For this, I drew three different people from different backgrounds and how their lives are affected by voter suppression and problems in their communities. The Black and Latino person has many problems, but the white kid doesn't have much in his way. It's a very perspective based piece, but also one full of hope with the people above the 3 characters heads. They are the future to make things better than what they used to be.

Artist’s Bio:

Doseofrich was born in December 1995 raised in Queens, New York, with his sweet, highly spirited mother and wiser older brother. Doseofrich saw his brother’s drawings when he was a kid and was like, “Wow!! How’d you do that?” And from then on, he was hooked! Doseofrich’s early drawings were Anime based, and he drew as his older brother was the critic telling him all the flaws within his work. Growing up as a kid, Doseofrich wanted to be an animator making a TV series based on his life-if he had superpowers. Doseofrich made many stories about space and different arcs, writing them all down. Then he started it…way too hard! Then his teenage years came, and he transitioned the idea to comics. He expanded it drastically and even made timeskips and stories related to his life as he grew older. Doseofrich even had a team of friends that he would talk to every week, and they would plan out storyboards, panels, and scripts. Sadly, it was too much work even with a small crew. Doseofrich underwent dark times after, changing his major 5 times in his college years as a backup for art. Eventually, one day in January 2016, he hit the breaking point and made Doseofrich on Instagram and found his true love-illustration. It was the “Superhero” version of himself. A site where he drew different cultures so people could have a sense of representation, to different things such as movie/anime characters. He would even post inspirational quotes and videos if people felt down. He remade the site in April 2020, wanting to have a fresh start and show off his best content. Doseofrich aims to be a voice for those who want to be more who they want to be, and for those to love themselves as they are through his art and his messages.
