Description of Work:
¡Vota Aqui! Is a piece that resonates with my mother's struggles during her first time voting as a U.S citizen. Intimidated by the lack of Spanish information, her first time voting was not how she imagined. With this piece, I hope to remind everyone that this country was built by diversity, and yet the languages provided when voting is limited.
Artist’s Bio:
Erika Valenzuela is a third-year, interactive design student at Maryville University who aspires to work in the animation field. She dreams of one day working alongside with other talented artists and creating movies that will create memorable moments. Erika has received a full-ride scholarship, Myrtle Agnew Walker Endowed Scholarship, based on her leadership, participation, and creative work within Maryville University's Design Visual Arts community.
