Inspired by the countless voices that challenge and counter the dehumanizing forces that entwine themselves through social structures and institutions, this piece aims to serve as a call-to-action. In other words, it’s a shout/a meditation/a vision/a reminder that to dismantle systems of oppression is to advocate for humility and a type of love that carries a willingness to share power.
“Why?” and “What if?” are the top questions that drive Isabelle’s work in the social sector. As a design researcher, she brings her experience in participatory design, facilitation, and social research methods to translate data into meaningful insights that can spur more inclusive and equitable outcomes. She has led initiatives around youth development and leadership within the Philippine diaspora, climate change resilience, and exploration of racial equity issues in K-12 education. Isabelle is a former Experience Designer at the Business Innovation Factory and an instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Continuing Education. She currently works for Creative Reaction Lab as Program Manager.
