Description of Work:
Mirrored Interactions speaks to the history of voter suppression. The noose and mailbox are mechanisms that prevent votes from being casted. The flowing print connects the eras and the monotone or colored flag highlight the mirrored history of voter suppression.
Artist’s Bio:
Alana Walker is a visual artist and current practice is painting and printmaking. Alana creates prints that are playful yet symbolic and representative oil paintings. Alana is currently studying History and Studio Art at Grinnell College and aspires to become a storyboard artist for animated television and movies.
